Five on Friday

Five on Friday posts may be my favorite.. I am all about compiling some random information in one post. Here it is.

On Wednesday we decided to try out a new trail and loved it. We walked the one mile trail to the water and Linc loved playing on "the beach."

Michael taught him how to skip stones on the water and I taught him how to climb a tree. The weather was beautiful, and we had a really good time.

This girl. ALL the heart eyes.

I got to watch my sweet niece this week and she was the sweetest thing.

Usually if I want to hug her I just hold her down like any good aunt would do, but this week she gave me hugs willingly. And y'all, it was precious.

Sometimes I look at her and I'm just shocked she's here. We prayed and hoped for her like nothing I've ever seen, and God gave at the perfect time. I may not have struggled with infertility, but I have watched someone I love dearly go through it, and it brings me the greatest joy to know that God can overcome such a hard thing.

My boy. My heart. My world.

He was sick this week and is still battling somewhat of a cough. I'm so thankful he's not running anymore fevers.

He keeps me on my toes, and never fails to have me laughing.

We're all about Star Wars right now, and although I've never seen the movies, I know a good majority of it. It's basically all we talk about. AND we have some Star Wars surprises for the new house, and I can't wait for him to see!

I signed him up for his second season of t-ball this week and I can't even believe it. I also booked his birthday party and I can't believe that either. When did my baby get old enough to be turning FIVE?! I mean.. this is a big birthday. My momma heart is overwhelmed with so many emotions.

Basically, I just love being his mom. As always.

I met Kayla when we were 10 or 11 through travel ball. For the next seven or eight years we followed each other from team to team and stayed friends despite the fact that we don't live in the same town.

Now we're all grown up with college degrees and full-time jobs and I'm so thankful we've remained friends all this time.

The other night we went to dinner at Chik-fil-A, because cheap food. And it was like no time had passed at all.

Also, Linc Fuss is absolutely obsessed with Kayla Miller and has requested she come to his birthday party. Of course.

I worked on bridesmaid gifts yesterday and I am SO excited to give them to my girls.

It's nothing fancy or expensive, but I'm still excited. I had the best time putting them together and writing them letters. As I worked on each bag I found myself thanking God for each of them in my life.

If I was going to have them all together at the same time before the wedding, they'd definitely be getting them early. But I won't.. so we'll just have to wait.

I'll be doing a post sometime after the wedding about them, so be looking for that.

That's all I have for this Friday. Back to work until 7:00, and then I'm looking forward to a great weekend off!

Five on Friday - Wedding Edition

Happy Friday! Today is the happiest! It officially marks 50 days until we say 'I do!!!!!!'

Despite the fact that I have to work three 12 hour shifts between now and Tuesday, I'm going to drink my blessed coffee and enjoy the last day I have off before the weekend.

I shared in this post about why I am, indeed, the worst bride ever. But despite my apathetic attitude toward detail, we have been getting some planning done these last couple weeks.

Here are five of the things we've finally decided on!

Yes. Just yes.

My mom is great at details and mentioned on Monday that I should make an appointment with the florist {yeah, I guess that is important} so we went Wednesday. The guy we met with was absolutely fantastic, worked with my budget {hello, cheap thrifty}, and our appointment was over in 30 minutes. That's what I'm talking about. Also, I love my flowers. They're exactly what I envisioned!

Bridal shower planning is under way! February 6th is the big day and I'm so excited to celebrate with the ladies I love most. My sister is awesome and I'm so thankful for her willingness to make everything so perfect.

My mom, like I said, rocks at the details. In the past few weeks she's ordered more plates, cups, table cloths, and table runners. Her eye for all of this is obviously way better than mine and I'm thankful that she's been so great at keeping me on track.

{Michael tried to be cute and tell me to send him a picture of me at my alterations so I sent him this. He wasn't impressed.}

I had my wedding alterations done this week. Next time I pick up my wedding dress it will fit perfectly and will be all ready to go for the wedding!

Move in day is February 15th and I am so excited! We've been packing around here and trying to get things ready. Michael will move in that day and Linc and I will move in March 5th. We are all so ready to live in one place.

{The box above are my coffee mugs. Serious business, people.}

There's going to be a sixth because, well, it's my blog and I'm excited about this. We sent out our invitations last week and have been getting RSVPs! I'm not usually a fan of the mail but with all the packages and RSVPs coming it makes it exciting.

I was thinking the other day, how blessed we are to have such an incredible group of people in our lives that would take time out of their schedules to come see us get married. That is not lost on me, and I'm so thankful.

So there are my five for this week. And just because I feel like my posts aren't complete without a picture of my cute boy, here he is.

Our Summer - Part Two

Way back in August I posted part one of our Summer.. and I vowed I would post part two and three. Yeah, well.. it's January and I haven't posted either. Because this is my blog and I'm really about the only one who reads it, I'm going to post part two now. I want to look back and remember our Summer. Here it is: our July.

We hung out with Brilee Lou a lot.

We celebrated the 4th of July blowing up fireworks and trying not to catch the house on fire.

We hung out at the "compartment" a lot..

And swam in the pool several days a week.

We almost lost our sweet Cop due to an Addisonian crisis, but thankfully were able to nurse him back to health.

We hung out a lot with MikeHodges, and we finally became members at our church!

We went to the zoo with my parents and to the beach to feed birds. Side note: I hate birds. They scare me to death. This picture gives me chills.

To top off our amazing July, we had lots of Mommy Lincoln dates. It was a good month, even if I didn't blog about it until six months later.
