A couple weeks ago I couldn't sleep for the life of me. If you know me at all you know that's ridiculous. It was around one in the morning and I couldn't fall asleep, so I figured God wanted to talk to me.

I have this terrible flaw about me. I'm terrified of failure. Because of that fear, I just don't do anything at all. If I'm afraid I'll mess it up, I just won't try it. {Great. I know.}

So while I was having the rough time sleeping God really laid the idea of dreaming on my heart.

In the stillness of the night, where my three year old is sleeping peacefully, and all I hear is The Lord whisper gently to my soul. Where He can remind me that He has great plans, incredible plans.. Plans for my good and His glory. Where He can remind me that He not only brings me peace, but He is my peace.

I'm learning that God doesn't just want to dream plans for me, He wants me to dream with Him. His plans are far greater than anything I could ever conspire on my own, and I'm grateful and humbled that The Lord of all creation wants to use me.

So I think that 2015 is going to be about dreaming with The Lord. Dreaming up what He wants and desires for Lincoln and I. Dreaming up big plans that may not make sense all the time, but they're what God is telling me to step out in faith on. Together with Christ, I'm going to let go of the fear of failure and go where He calls us to go. I think The Lord is dreaming big things for 2015, and I want to dream with Him for our family of two.

Our Year in Review

2014 was good to us. Better yet, God was good to us in 2014. We had some ups and some downs but doesn't every year? 2014 taught me that Jesus is always faithful and His timing is perfect and divine.

Here are some of my favorite moments, posts, and memories from 2014.

We spent a ton of time out in the cold.

God used Linc to show me how much He cares about the little things in our life.

We made ice cream soup.

We packed a bunch into a few weeks, like playing outside, coffee dates with friends, and baking cookies.

I got overwhelmed.

I learned patience from crushed up goldfish.

I did a life lately post.

I updated y'all on my favorite boy.

My brother came for a visit.

I wrote one of my most popular posts on being satisfied.

Lincoln turned three!!!!! {And this letter made everyone cry while becoming my most read blog post ever.}

Lincoln got a guinea pig and a big boy room.

interviewed the newly three year old.

I worked on being a yes mom.

My big brother got married! {And Lincoln rocked his ring bearer duties.}

We broke the news that Linc was going to be a big cousin.

I talked about one of my greatest struggles.

Hello, my name is _______.

I gave Lincoln to Jesus.

Lincoln finished his first year of preschool!

Lincoln had his first ever swim lessons!

I shared my favorite Bible verses for anxiety.

We hung out at our favorite beach spot all the time.

I shared that I was having a niece and spent a whole lot of time in those white scrubs {complete with those tired eyes}.

I got to go to the OR for the first time!

My dad had a heart attack, but by the grace of God came home just fine.

We went to Legoland {Part One // Part Two}!

I finished #1 on my bucket list.

Be You

Lincoln started his second year of preschool.

Jesus taught me grace through some ice cream.

I celebrated my four year anniversary.

Linc threw a fit, and I learned about God's unconditional love.

My sweet boy was Optimus Prime for Halloween.

I shared why doing good isn't the gospel.

We welcomed sweet Brilee Noel into our lives and I fell in love.

Lincoln rocked his Thanksgiving program at school.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our family.

We visited Santa and had a Thankgiving-themed day with our best friends.

We took our Christmas pictures and they turned out perfect.

I spent my 22nd birthday in the ER.

I wrote what is easily my favorite post ever, on raising Godly men who respect women.

We went to a Christmas tree lighting with Pearce and McKenzie.

We took a walk that blessed my heart so much.

We spent our first Christmas as a family of nine and it was our best Christmas yet!

I can't wait to see what God does in 2015!

Print Giveaway!

Happy Monday, friends!

Lincoln and I had a wonderful Christmas and are really soaking up all this extra time together on his Christmas break. {And also wearing our pajamas constantly isn't half bad either.}

Today I'm hosting a giveaway of a print from one of the most creative people I know.. My sister-in-law.

Ever heard of Emily Ley? Well McKenzie just happens to work for her. When it first happened I flipped out like a weirdo. "Emily Ley?! Like the famous one who makes planners?!?" Seriously. I'm surprised she didn't slap me.

McKenzie is so creative. She does hand lettering for anything you can think of, weddings, prints, etc. You can check our her website here

Besides all of her incredible creativity, she also has the coolest sister-in-law around. Just saying.

When she was in town for Christmas she brought one of her prints to give away! So the giveaway started this morning and will end Saturday at midnight. A winner will be chosen, I will verify, and then I'll get it shipped to you!

Have a fabulous week!

So Christmas has come and gone, so why not share our Thanksgiving with you now? {Oops.} So, so late, but one day I'll want to look back and see these pictures so here they are. And honestly I'm working on a year in review, and can't finish it until Thanksgiving is done.

So here's our Thanksgiving without any words. You can try to guess what we're doing in some of the pictures. I'm not even sure at this point.

It was a sweet Thanksgiving but we sure missed Matt, Kays, and Brilee.

Next week I'm sharing our Christmas and then our year in review!
